Ryan Larcom
Designer. Corporate Innovator.
Venture Capitalist. Startup Operator.
Ryan loves turning bold ideas into reality. As Managing Director, Studios at Alloy Partners, Ryan co-creates "advantaged" startups and venture studios with the world's leading organizations and entrepreneurs.
Ryan’s superpower is complexity-busting – guiding leaders to make sense of business and industry complexities in order to confidently execute. A designer by nature, Ryan is passionate about making the world a better place through thoughtfully designed business models, products, and experiences. Ryan’s portfolio of work has intertwined strategy, product design, and innovation at global, publicly-traded companies such as Honda, Cummins, and Allegion; venture capital; and startups. As one of the first employees of High Alpha, a pioneer of the venture studio model, Ryan co-designed the playbook that the firm has used to launch 50 companies over the last eight years.
In addition to serving on several startup boards, Ryan is actively involved in a number of philanthropic and nonprofit endeavors; his contributions acknowledged as an Indianapolis Business Journal’s “Forty under 40” honoree. He co-founded Collective Works, which partners with entrepreneurs and non-profits to launch sustainable for-profit/for-good businesses to scalably address social problems. He serves as an Advisory Board member of Sinapis, a faith-based accelerator for entrepreneurs in emerging countries.
Originally from Connecticut, Ryan is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and industrial design. Ryan lives in Indianapolis with his wife and two children.
